金秋送爽，送来了中秋、国庆。校园内花团锦簇，洋溢着一派欢乐的气氛，我校迎来了55周年庆典。9月20日，在校园里出现了，40多位老者，他（她）们边走边谈，还不时指指点点，流露出激动而兴奋的表情，引起年轻的学生们不时驻足。他们是我校58届校友，也是返校的校友中最早毕业的学子。他们虽已跨花甲、达古稀，但精神矍铄。半个世纪后的今天，他们重返母校，聚会抒情，怎能不激动；他们怀念母校、师长的感情一言难表，怎能不兴奋？忆当年，公元壹仟玖佰伍拾伍年，百名朝气蓬勃的青年，怀着建设新中国将来当一名工程师的抱负，从华北各地入学太原机器制造学校（太原重型机械学院前身），修学铸钢专业。三年多的学习时光，他们朝夕相处，勤奋学习，进德修业，友善互助。母校的关怀和老师的智慧把他们培养成德才并茂、品学兼优、吃苦耐劳的建设人才。公元壹仟玖佰伍拾捌年，他们毕业了，奔赴祖国各地，投身到轰轰烈烈的工业建设中。50年来他们经历了风风雨雨、酸甜苦辣，为社会为事业拼搏奉献，为我国的工业现代化，尤其是我国重型机械工业的崛起辛勤工作，皓首白头，事业有成。大部分校友都成为技术专家、教授、高级工程师、经济师和优秀的企业管理者。他们当年的理想实现了，他们无愧母校的培养、无愧老师们的教导、更无愧社会。

而今，他们已是古稀之年，悠悠岁月，但校友的眷眷情意越愈深绵，今日聚会言不尽、语不完，相聚短、离别长。我们祝愿他（她）们度过一个幸福的晚年。

校长郭勇义，校党委副书记李志勤，校纪委书记安德智，副校长曾建潮、黄庆学与校友联谊总会的同志们，十分热情地接待了他们，为他们举办了聚会活动，并陪同参观了校园和实验室，几位事业有成的校友还与有关专业的老师进行了技术交流，为同学们作了报告，受到了热烈的欢迎和高度评价。老校友们看到了母校的巨大变化，心情特别激动，内心得到了很大安慰，相信母校一定会越办越好。
