太原科技大学华科学院是一所以机械类、材料类、电子信息类等专业为特色，以高素质应用型人才培养为目标，由太原科技大学和山西省导通科技公司联合创办的一所独立学院。学院位于太原市晋祠路，紧邻太原市风景名胜晋阳湖，在太原晋阳新区的规划范围。

学院于2002年6月经山西省人民政府同意组建，2003年开始招收全日制本科生。2004年3月，教育部确认为独立学院。2005年1月，通过了教育部对独立学院的办学条件和教学条件的专项检查。自2003级学生起，对符合毕业条件的学生颁发太原科技大学华科学院本科毕业证书，并经太原科技大学学位委员会审核，对符合条件的学生授予太原科技大学学士学位。

学校实行民营机制和独立自主的办学模式。自创办以来，充分依托太原科技大学的综合办学优势，积极适应市场经济对人力资源的需求和我国高等教育大众化发展的趋势，坚持“特色立校、质量建校、从严治校”的办学理念，继承太原科技大学“负重奋进，笃行求实”的办学传统，始终把提高教育教学质量和提高学生综合素质作为学院的中心工作，努力为区域社会经济发展和行业科技进步培养德、智、体、美全面发展的高级应用型人才。近几年来，学院不断深化教学改革，加强师资建设，优化专业结构，使学校走向持续快速发展的轨道，综合办学实力不断提升。目前，共设有机械设计制造及其自动化、材料成型及控制工程、计算机科学与技术、信息管理与信息系统、自动化、电气工程及其自动化、电子信息工程、通信工程、信息与计算科学、法学、市场营销、电子商务、经济学、会计学、英语15个专业，在校学生4400余人。

面对高等教育大众化带来的机遇和挑战，学院全体师生员工正积极努力奋发进取，力争办成一所特色鲜明、教育教学质量高、深受社会欢迎的多科性独立学院。

其实本校有很多不好的地方。

我去过东校区，感觉东校区不错。不过据说今年全部都搬回来老。哈哈，学校不用每年承担50万了。
